Highly innovative, inclusive, progressive, and socially conscious, Study Hall , Deva road, Lucknow is an English-medium, co-educational CBSE K-12 school offering holistic education and empowering students for life beyond the classroom.
Founded in 1986, by Dr Urvashi Sahni, a trailblazer in the field of educational reform, Study Hall was started in response to a concern – the quality of education offered in the so called “high quality” private schools. It is a child-centric school where children are treated with respect and care, taught with a child responsive interactive pedagogy that enables the development of creativity, critical thinking skills and a social and political consciousness.
From the beginning, the school’s purpose has been to relate education to real life experiences of students and their existential queries. It enables children to learn the intrinsic values of life, beyond the traditional textbook knowledge and information. SH fosters collaboration between teachers, children and parents, as co-mentors of the entire education process of an individual. We believe in creating nurturing and caring schools.
At Study Hall, we focus on physical fitness and social development as much as on academics. We work together to build a culture where mental well-being is prioritized. Encouraging open conversations about mental health, normalizing the act of seeking help, and providing accessible resources are key steps in this process. We create a supportive environment where students feel valued, understood, and equipped to handle life’s challenges.

The Visionary
Dr Urvashi Sahni is a social entrepreneur, women’s rights activist, and educationist who has been a pioneering activist in the field for more than three decades. She is an Ashoka Fellow (since 2010) and a non-resident fellow at the Center for Universal Education at The Brookings Institution, USA (since 2013). She is also a 2024 Advanced Leadership Initiative (ALI) Fellow at Harvard University. She has done her Masters and PhD in Education from University of California, Berkeley, USA. Dr Sahni was awarded the HAAS International Award in 2001 (awarded to one international alumni in the whole University for significant work in their home country). In 2017, she won the Social Entrepreneur of the Year India award conferred by the Schwab-Jubilant Bhartiya Foundation. In 2020 she co-created Catalyst 2030, a global network of over 1800 social entrepreneurs. She is also a former member of the Rajasthan’s Chief Minister’s advisory council, heading the education sub-group. The Uttar Pradesh Government has nominated her to serve on the Steering Committee for the implementation of the National Education Policy of India 2020 and by the National Institute of Open Schooling, to serve on their committee for the revision of their Gender Policy.

Beyond his contributions to education, Shri Murari Lal Goel is a dynamic entrepreneur whose ventures in real estate, logistics, and warehousing have set new benchmarks in innovation, resilience, and growth.

At our school, excellence in education is seamlessly blended with a focus on character-building, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. While we maintain academic rigour, we ensure that learning remains engaging and meaningful, fostering a love for knowledge rather than just the pursuit of grades. Learning here is not restricted to the four walls of the classroom but takes place everywhere on the campus.

At Study Hall, Deva Road Campus, we understand that the early years of a child’s education form the bedrock of lifelong learning. From Play Group to Class 6th, our focus is on curiosity-driven education, emotional well-being, and individualized attention.

At Study Hall, we encourage learning beyond books through fun-filled activities like art, dance, music, storytelling, nature walks, and hands-on experiments. These activities nurture creativity, build confidence, and make learning joyful for every child from Play Group to Class 6.
